Rob Roy Highland Dancers Compete at Ottawa Competition

On two of the coldest days of the winter a group of our dancers travelled to Ottawa to participate in the National and Choreography competitions. On Saturday all dancers placed in their respective categories and Anna and Finley won 1st place awards in one of their dances. There aren’t many areas that offer a National competition so our dancers enjoyed the opportunity to compete in these dances. On Sunday a record number of choreography entries made for a long day of solos, duets, trios, broadswords and group events. This year we entered two duets. Maggie and Gillian, and Finley and Madison both won second prize in their respective categories. Their hard work along with the support of their teachers, Devon and Carol-Anne ensured that they were ready for the extremely competitive categories.
Congratulations to all of the dancers who competed in Ottawa. It was a fun and successful weekend for all of you. Our next large event will be the Kingston Scottish Festival in May.
